Our Story

Factory163 is an incubation hub for arts and innovation operating out of Stratford Ontario’s historic Globe Wernicke building.

The Factory163 mission began to support creatives at any level and in any discipline. We offer spaces and services that grow with each individual journey and we help source tailored supports to meet needs along the way. Affordable monthly rates as well as adaptable rental spaces were founding priorities and they remain priorities today. Our expanded vision includes our CoCreation Membership program, Premium Office and studio spaces, purpose built MakerSpace, Rehearsal and Showcase space. We’re currently working towards launching a movement program in 2021 that will offer imaginatively distanced spaces to meet the demands of a challenging year. Our vision includes expanding programming to include classes to support our community in a variety of ways.

In our business practices, Factory163 is dedicated to critically examine the world around us. Raising our voices in concert with global consciousness, Factory163 brings together an inspired community of people in celebration of human diversity, human expression and a continued pursuit of knowledge. We know it is our responsibility today to make choices that improve our communities for future generations.

Actively committing to environmentally informed practices in restoration, operation, and maintenance of Factory163, we consistently strive to improve our own practices as well as encouraging the same of those who share our space. We believe in finding innovative solutions for a sustainable future through collaborative partnerships and alliances.

Factory163 works closely with our Partner Members in local Community, Arts, and Not For Profit organizations, and we’re excited to approach new collaboration opportunities that come our way. Founded by the Cox Family in 2010, Factory163 works to preserve and maintain the beauty of our preindustrial building as inspiration for the community of creatives who share this incredible space. We are excited to see where we grow next!
