Chamber music series kicks off third season
Organizers of the INNERchamber music series are kicking off the 2012-13 season in Stratford in dramatic fashion this weekend with “The Drama Within”.
The Sunday evening concert, to be held at Factory 163, takes place during Stratford’s Culture Days weekend.
The Factory Arts String Quartet will join with clarinetist Peter Shackleton for Mozart’s famous Clarinet Quintet K.581.
The concert will also feature Bedrich Smetana’s autobiographical String Quartet No. 1, titled “From My Life”. That gives a musical account of the life of the acknowledged founding father of Czech music, who by the age of 50 had gone completely deaf.
Tickets for the concert are $39, or $25 for students. If purchased in advance, the ticket price includes a light dinner which will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the music at about 6:45 p.m.
Advance tickets must be purchased by midnight Friday and are available at www.innerchamber.ca or in person at Fanfare Books. Concert-only tickets are available Sunday from 6:30 p.m. (for the same price) at the door at Factory 163, located at 163 King St. in Stratford.
